Sustainability at INTREAL

OUR RESPONSIBILITY

Long-term real estate investments require forward-looking decisions and are based on a responsible approach to the environment and society. The political agenda of the EU Action Plan forms the foundation for aligning our business activities. Within the scope of our climate ambitions, we have a specific goal:

By 2030, we aim to become a carbon-neutral company.

Not all emissions can be reduced long-term or completely avoided. Therefore, we aim to support climate protection projects in the future to make a contribution to our environment.

GOVERNANCE

more

ENVIRONMENT

  • We view it as our responsibility to leverage our creative abilities in order to minimize environmentally harmful impacts.
  • Continuously, we strive to develop economically sensible solutions that reduce energy and water consumption, while also lowering CO2 emissions.
  • We actively engage in ongoing dialogue with our stakeholders (especially business partners, suppliers, employees, service providers, investors, and tenants) to identify common interests and efficiently mitigate the harmful effects of our portfolio on the environment, limiting them to a feasible minimum.
  • Our property management practices prioritize resource and energy conservation. We strive to avoid emissions wherever possible, aiming to reduce our ecological footprint across the entire value chain.

SOCIAL RESPONSIBILITY

  • We strive to create an appealing, secure, and opportunity-filled work environment that encourages lasting commitment from our employees.
  • We stand for an inclusive and diverse work environment, free from discrimination.
  • Our employees thrive in a positive environment that fosters both personal and professional growth.
  • We uphold open communication with stakeholders and prioritize transparency.
  • We actively promote awareness among our employees regarding ecological and social sustainability.

CORPORATE GOVERNANCE

  • We consistently enhance the collection, analysis, and presentation of non-financial metrics.
  • We vehemently oppose corruption and bribery, taking decisive action against any violations or misconduct through legal means.
  • We uphold international human rights standards, emphasizing principles such as non-discrimination and individual accountability.

SHAPING SUSTAINABILITY TOGETHER

As part of our commitment, we firmly believe that we can achieve more together. Therefore, we actively engage with various industry associations and political organizations, implementing their standards:

  • BVI Code of Conduct
  • UNPRI (United Nations Principles for Responsible Investment)
  • UN Sustainability Goals

DIVERSE BENEFITS FOR OUR EMPLOYEES

The satisfaction and well-being of our employees are of utmost importance to us. As a responsible employer, we are committed to providing our employees with a safe workplace. INTREAL aims to support its employees in their professional and personal development. We advocate for an integrated work-life balance concept, which we will continue to promote through flexible working hours and remote work.

SUSTAINABILITY IN OUR DAILY WORK

The realization of our climate ambitions begins in our daily work. We firmly believe that small actions can make a significant difference! The United Nations’ 17 Sustainable Development Goals serve as the framework for our sustainability initiatives. At INTREAL, we strive to positively impact both the ecological and social aspects of sustainability on a daily basis. Therefore, we have specifically committed to four UN goals. OUR SOCIAL RESPONSIBILITY COMMITMENT

As a successful Service KVG (Fund Administrator and AIFM), INTREAL takes on social responsibility beyond its core business. This commitment is reflected in various social projects that are regularly offered at different times of the year.

Donation options

Instead of giving gifts to customers at Christmas, INTREAL supports charitable organisations in Germany. All employees are invited to make suggestions for projects and institutions. A vote is then held to select the five organisations that will receive a donation.

Christmas wish tree

All INTREAL colleagues have the opportunity to sponsor gifts at Christmas. Children and young people write wish lists that are hung up on the INTREAL Christmas tree. The wish lists can be fulfilled in return for a cash donation.

Non-cash donations

Campaigns are organised at regular intervals to collect non-cash donations for three selected regional organisations. These organisations are presented within the company beforehand so that employees have the opportunity to find out about them and make targeted donations.
